At this or at any time, you may be looking toward changes that will boost your energy, improve your outlook, and motivate you to move forward into the future you envision. With all that’s going on in the world, it would be highly beneficial to assume control over the physical, mental, and emotional aspects of your life that you may have relinquished to something or someone else. Although there are elements of our lives over which we have little or no control, there are some things that we can control quite effectively. Here are a few ways to get started…
- Identify what makes you feel out of control, such as your overall personal state, your relationships with others, or your financial condition.A solution for every problem may not seem readily apparent, so take some time to work through how to proceed towards the changes you would like in your life.
- Take responsibility for how you arrived in this condition, because then you can do something about it. It’s easy to blame others, but we personally make the decisions that set the direction of our lives. But don’t be too hard on yourself – being kind to your mind can help you work out a solution without emotional interference.
- Forgive yourself. Consider your situation from a nonjudgmental point of view, and factor in the positive elements that presently exist in your personal world. Get serious about your health and start looking after yourself. Nurture the relationships you have with people that you care about and strive to be around the family, friends, and colleagues that make you feel comfortable.
- Relax and reflect. Learning to fully relax allows your mind to reflect upon the positive and negative aspects of how regaining control could affect your current situation. Look at how your reaction to your problem has affected you energetically. Are you allowing old habits to interfere with your progress? Are you burning out because you’re trying to do too much all the time? Do you allow your relationships with some people to drain your energy? Do you procrastinate a lot? Are you frustrated with your work?

- Make a change plan. Define the changes can be made immediately to help you to start taking back control of your well-being. Then include those aspects of your world that you care about and either start with easy small changes or reflect upon how realistic it will be to make big changes immediately possible. Think things through – then get going to change the rest until you feel like you’re gaining control once again. The longer you linger, the less motivated you might feel about taking the necessary steps toward improvement. Then be ready to adapt to changing circumstances that inevitably affect any plan along the way.
- Practice self-love and self-acceptance. All your life experiences have made you who you are as a unique individual. Continue to develop and enjoy those attributes as you bring yourself into a state of balance, so that you’re able to make any desired changes for additional improvement.
- Work within. By learning to work within with your spirit and by practicing some essential skills, your efforts may bring clarity to your self-perception and help motivate you to quickly take back control in a relaxed and confident manner.
We are far more capable than our current awareness! Taking back control means attending to the things that you perceive as important in your life and by selectively choosing the aspects over which you feel you have the ability and confidence to improve. Now you can get started!

Another New Year is on the horizon! Just one year ago, we were looking forward to a new decade full of hope and promise. Since the pandemic hit, we’ve become more highly aware of the fragility of our human existence and how interconnected we all are on this planet. Although this past year has brought some unusual and difficult circumstances, most of us have realized how precious our lives truly are. As we face the next phase of this historic pandemic, we may experience more inner reflection than usual and strive to find innovative ways to improve our approach to the challenges that await us.
During this and any time, you’ll find that working with your spirit can bring you additional energy and inner strength, as well as provide a sense of calmness and self-satisfaction.

Have you considered what personal changes may be necessary to facilitate your progress? It may be time for you to change some attitudes, to believe in yourself more, and to view your future as a work in progress, rather than as a lofty goal that may seem unattainable. During this time of transition you’ll need to be prepared to meet unexpected challenges and be flexible enough to adapt to changing circumstances.
Now that we’re entering another new year, we can look forward to the many prospects before us. We can take advantage of this new calendar year to make the changes that will take us in the direction that we want to go!
Sometimes life can seem difficult under present circumstances, but you can direct yourself toward the life experience you desire by acquiring positive spiritual knowledge. The initiation of positive changes is one of the best ways to provide yourself with the unique experiences that can strengthen you as you adapt to meet new challenges that help both you and your spirit to progress toward a positive state.
A spirit gains strength when its body fights fear. This week’s grand jury report that exposed the decades-long activities of predatory priests in Pennsylvania make me feel elated that so many survivors have finally come forward! Innocent survivors that should never be ashamed and fearful. However, the ever-silent and complicit Vatican officials’ feeble responses indicate their unwillingness to properly deal with the pedophilia that runs rampant in their institution. It’s essential for all survivors to fight back against any criminal who destroyed their joy and initiated difficulty in their life.
As 2018 approaches and we reflect upon our experiences during the past year, we can now look forward to making some changes that can truly make a difference in our lives. There’s no sense in dreaming about the life we want – we have to break out of our old habits and start making those positive changes happen!

The other day one of my friends on social media shared a 2014 video of a tearful young North Korean woman who delivered a compelling account of her perilous journey to what she thought was freedom in China. As they navigated by the night sky, Yeon-mi Park described how she felt that only the stars were with them. This is one of the feelings that oppressed or abused people deal with throughout their lives, because they have been separated from the harmony within that was meant to exist. In speaking out about the tragedy that she and others in her country have lived through, this brave young refugee exemplifies the need to talk about abusive experiences in order for self-healing to take place.
of our being and start the healing process. We did nothing wrong, but bear the shame and guilt of having been violated, often by the people we were supposed to have trusted most. Unless we break through the fear and finally tell a friend, family member or seek professional help, the hurt will keep festering away within. Not only does the aftermath of abuse cause emotional and mental difficulty and ongoing trauma to our bodies, it also impacts our spiritual selves in a vicious cycle of pernicious negativity. Fortunately I found a way to work within with my spirit, so that I was able to stop the cycle to regain my self-esteem, dignity and self-heal over time.
At this time of the year many of us are reflecting upon our past year, and find ourselves speculating about how to approach 2017. I always think of each New Year as an opportunity for a brighter future, when we can let go of past fears, be grateful for who we are right now, and renew our efforts to make the kind of positive changes we want to enhance our future.

Even as we strive to better our human condition through science and technology, inside each of us is a largely untapped reservoir of wisdom that has been neglected, ignored or dismissed throughout modern history. Within each of us is a unique sentient being who is either allowing negativity to interfere with us, or who is waiting for us to wake up and start utilizing the higher level skills that could improve our wellbeing at a grand scale.
outraged because their behaviour is unacceptable. However, the behavior of adults who bully, accuse, criticize, threaten and abuse children with the excuse of protectiveness or discipline is not only inexcusable or unforgiveable, it also causes irreparable damage at the spiritual level. Once a child’s innocence has been shattered by the frightening experiences of abuse, it can either bring a lifetime of shame, guilt and low self-esteem, or it can trigger a self-preservation instinct that results in constant restructuring, adaptation and determination toward self-preservation. Once their trust in authority figures has been shattered, many survivors of childhood abuse find it very difficult to ask for help and they often become alienated while their spiritual strength weakens over time.
Those of us who have been mistreated in this world under so many different circumstances struggle not only to overcome the mental, emotional and physical aftermath, but also to deal with the ongoing negative interference that occurs at the higher level. Through my many years as a spiritual problem solver, I’ve learned to identify and eliminate the negative elements extending from higher levels that linger and interfere with one’s wellbeing long after an abusive event that are not recognized or treated through other means.
In order to protect ourselves at the spiritual level and to withstand the onslaught of negativity that many of us face on this planet, it takes effort and commitment to progress at the spiritual level. Even if spiritual ground has been lost, we are all equipped with a connection to our spiritual aspect that can be restituted from its idle state and put to use! While practicing to refuse and remove the elements of negative interference, we can develop a strong positive spiritual connection using the Light* that will continue to generate sustainable energy at all levels of our being.
Our mere glimpse upon life seems myopic, compared to the broad vista upon which our spirits gaze. Whether we realize it or not, each one of us is part of our spirit’s timeless journey, making our lives of paramount importance in providing and developing a positive spiritual orientation.
Even though Valentine’s Day might seem a rather trivial holiday, I really enjoy seeing the symbol of LOVE everywhere!
Hopefully, the spiritual aspect of our world can evolve dynamically from its incorrigible negativity into a fundamentally positive state. Perhaps, if love for oneself were more important, people could start caring for themselves, for each other, and for our planet.
