Your reaction to negativity could mean that you either accept it by giving in to it or refuse it by taking action against it.
Awareness of how to stand up to negativity gives you the upper hand when it hits. If you do nothing, its effect will hit you uninhibited. If you take positive action to refuse and counteract it, you’ll most often stop negativity in its tracks or, at least, impede its onset as you work to eject it.
When I first met Leo Jean, he told me many stories of how he had developed his spiritual strength. One of the most significant lessons that I learned is that you can never give up or give in to negativity. Once you concede, you’ve accepted and given negativity an entry point to infiltrate your boundaries. (I intertwine the terms “negativity” and “spiritual negativity” all the time because, from my perspective, all negativity has spiritual/quantum/higher level origins.)
Negativity comes in so many forms, from the infiltration of a microbial virus at the physical level to the malaise caused by the interference of negativity at the spiritual level. While children and animals are sensitive to the presence of negative influences, most adults have been de-sensitized or conditioned not to react to negativity as it presents itself. Whatever the form it comes in, once you recognize that it’s a negative intention, it’s best to resist and start actively refusing it immediately, in order to prevent any detrimental effect on your well-being.
When I met Leo, he told me that my body has a built-in self-healing system. That seemed to make sense, but why didn’t I know how to consciously use it? It’s because we’ve been conditioned not to use our inherent self-repairing mechanism to the extent that we should, because of the negative interference that blocks and impedes its use. As consumers of negativity on a regular basis, humans accumulate negativity at all levels that inhibits the body’s ability to self-repair, rejuvenate and regenerate. Although we all seem to have an expiration date imbedded in our DNA, we can still strive to counteract the negativity that would otherwise diminish the quality of our experience.
One example of fighting negativity that has a physical impact that I think everyone can appreciate is when you’re up against something as common as a flu virus. When someone coughs or sneezes in the aisle at the grocery store; when the arrival of flu season is announced; or when someone tells you they feel a cold coming on, what do you do? Most people say “Oh, no! Not again!” or “I don’t want to get a cold or flu!” While the second statement is almost a refusal, here’s what I’ve learned to do to stop getting colds:
“I refuse the virus completely in all states and dimensions!” Then I bring in the Light* and ask my higher self to help me to remove any negativity that I might have been exposed to in my thoughts or that my body might have already reacted to chemically, while completely refusing all the microbes at all levels.
This method sounds so easy, and it is. When I believe in myself and refuse in this way, my immune system kicks in and goes to work immediately to prevent my body from getting sick. I’m glad to say that I’ve had just one cold lasting only a couple of days in over 14 years. Prior to discovering this method of refusing, I had allowed at least one cold every year, despite my healthy efforts at the physical level. Once you get the hang of it, the benefits of refusing negativity at all levels is equally as effective.
It wasn’t until I started to work with my spirit and to use the Light to counteract negativity in all its forms that I’ve been able to systematically learn to self-heal and enjoy the benefits at all levels of my being.
In order to properly refuse negativity, one has to be vigilant of its influence and counteract it at all levels.
